Calgary, AB
After a thorough two weeks in the city of Calgary, riders Clayton Vila, Sean Jordan, Charlie Owens, Tom Warnick, Cam Riley and Justin Norman finally finished up their rail trip in Alberta. Manning the camera was Alex Martini who has been driving around Canada for the past 4 months, working on his Canadian citizenship transfer. Following a 19 hour drive from Boulder, the boys arrived in the city and started setting up rails immediately. Despite having almost no snow to work with, the crew salvaged as much of the snowbanks as they could to make shit happen.
Halfway through the trip, the crew had to slow their role due to an injury that rider Justin Norman had sustained. After stepping to a heavy dub kink with a significantly high drop on the side, Justin got caught up on one of the gaps in the rail and fell off early, landing a near 15 foot drop to his back. With no snow protecting him, Justin took the brunt of the fall to pavement on his pelvis, breaking it in two places. After everyone helped Justin to the hospital to get checked out, the crew went back to work, happy that Justin wasn’t hurt as bad as he was, but also bummed of what just went on. Get better soon Justin!
Stay tuned for what’s going down with the crew where the boys will be working on more handrails and pow.
